Listen on WPIR 98.4FM & WRDR,
On & Off The field was created by Dylan Moran as a podcast to showcase what players were doing on & off the field. Dylan grew up in Upstate, New York where he faced the harsh realities of high school. Dylan became a victim of bullying almost daily. Through it all he remained active and participated in a variety of extracurricular sports; where he showed his love of all sports including his passion for football. Unfortunately, his play was short lived because most of his bullies played football and he didn't stay on the team. He graduated and join the US Army where he entered Basic Training/AIT in Fort Jackson, SC. In that time, he also went to college and got an associates degree in computer information.
He eventually would join the US Army Reserves as a Human Resources Specialist. While in the Army he was diagnosed with epilepsy which prevented him from deployment. After serving 8 years (2011-2019) in the United States military he was honorably discharged.
In 2018, Dylan started On and Off the Field to cover the 2018-2019 NFL season. Due to a conflict in scheduling he was forced to abandoned the idea; however, with the support of his wife he brought On & Off the Field back in 2019. This time, he listened to feedback that he needed to bring on a co-host. In 2020, Derf enters the podcast as second man. Dylan knew Derf and asked him to join him on his pod journey; as they're both huge football enthusiast.
Derf is from Western, New York not too far from the Welch's HQ. Derf was a tennis player in high school and eventually got accepted and graduated from Penn State with a degree in Geography and minor in Climatology. The two re-imagined On & Off into a sports video podcast that offers the most progressive NFL coverage.
They cover all 32 NFL teams, and the players charitable efforts off the field. To send them donations or information about your favorite organization/foundation or athletes charitable actions? Send an email on onandoffthefield.com.
